what a great day of editing, and sitting, and sitting, and sitting, and sitting.

    I learned 2 very important things today. One; school was mad so that once you get into the work force those tedious tasks that you spend all day on (IE 4 hours in front of a computer screen working on a 4 minute video)  doesn't seem NEARLY as bad as a one hour english class talking about what the author REALLY meant. Also I learned that mistake is a great chance to learn. I’ve made a few mistakes over the past few days; too much head room, moving in on shots when I should have stayed wide, and almost dropping and breaking Ethney’s extremely nice and expensive camera. (you know the small things) the list might be a little longer than that but just a taste of a few. However, these mistakes have not gone to waste. From those specific mistakes I have consciously worked on cutting down in head room in my video, I have seriously thought about every shot, (where I move what I focus on and what is and more importantly is not in the shot) and to hold that camera with a death grip.


     I arrived at Ethney’s at 9AM and we sat down. And we sat, and we sat….and sat. Well first we looked over and decided we needed one more shot of art in the dinning hall talking about how fresh the food is which completely paid off because the delivery truck that never showed up last time was just pulling in as we were off loading box after box of fresh fruits and veggies. We took the video we needed and headed back. When we got back we imported and then we sat and edited, and sat, and sat, and sat. We worked from about 10:30 until 2PM on editing the dinning hall video.

   
     I had a huge breakthrough after I left today. I had just spent at least four hours editing this video for a job that might not have been the top of my list to edit but I LOVED every second. I love every second of this project I am learning a ton and I couldn't be happier. ( so much better than english class sorry jane) so today was not exactly exciting for any one not in love with video or film but it was another great day of editing for me and another great day to learn from my mistakes as we watched it back .

Tomorrow Ethney has prior obligations and I will be on my own. I plan to work on my senior class video and specifically working on some special effects with adobe after effects to see if I cant make it absolutely magically terrifically amazingly perfect.
